High 5 Long Island (Teen Category)

The purpose of High 5 Long Island is to develop young audiences by making the arts affordable and accessible to students, as well as offering special teen programming. The High 5 program enables students in middle school, high school, and college between the ages of 13 and 19 to purchase tickets for any High 5 event for only $5 each, unless otherwise noted.

High 5 Tickets to the Arts was chartered as an independent, non-profit organization in New York City in 1995. The original idea, conceived by a Styvesant High School junior, was modeled after a student ticket program in Europe. The program has been highly successful in New York City, where thousands of students have taken advantage of the discounted tickets.
